The Alliance is a group of Live Action Role Playing (LARPs) chapters that are located throughout the United States. People create personas (known as Player Characters or PC's) that they then portray during an event where various trials, both physical and mental, will be put against them. It is based in a fantasy setting so the trials could be anything from defeating monsters (played by volunteers and are known as Non-Player Characters or NPC's), overcoming a wizard's curse or simply negotiating a trade route. The only limit is your imagination. As you overcome these obstacles, you will gain experience (known as Experience Points or XP) and with it you can increase your character's abilities, making them stronger.
If you are new to the Alliance or LARPing in general, it is strongly encouraged that you come and NPC one of our events first. This will expose you to the game, its system and setting and will give you a better idea as to where a character you'd enjoy playing might fit in. Membership to the Alliance costs $10 a year and the rulebook for the game is $20. The interesting thing that sets the Alliance apart from other LARPs is that with this character you develop, you can travel to other chapters in the US and play your character there. They'll meet new people, placed, foes and troubles.
Age for full participation in the game is 18+ years of age. Age 16-17 requires a waiver signed by their legal guardian for them to participate. Ages 12-15 can attend our games however they MUST be accompanied by their legal guardian and they may not participate in the simulated combats.
